Fur Décor
Beginning in 2024, the FENDI Fur Atelier has been working in close collaboration with the Architecture Department to create unique fur décor to be displayed in FENDI stores. Each fur creation is akin to a painting, drawing inspiration from iconic FENDI motifs as well as symbolic elements linked to the specific store location. These one-of-a-kind decorations are meticulously crafted from high-quality upcycled mink fur, utilizing FENDI’s signature techniques, such as inlay workmanship. This intricate requires artisans to carefully assemble pieces of different shapes, colors, and lengths to create elaborate patterns.
By combining exceptional workmanship with circular practices, FENDI gives a second life to its fur materials and reaffirms its commitment to sustainability.
The Baguette Patchwork
For the Men's Spring/Summer 2025 collection, FENDI introduced a meticulously handcrafted Baguette bag in Cuoio Romano leather, honoring its heritage while embracing the principles of circular production. Made from offcuts of Cuoio Romano leather, a signature material that has been part of FENDI since 1925, this bag offers a unique patchwork design that is both creative and environmentally conscious. This exclusive design reinforces FENDI's dedication to creative circularity, a key pillar of the LIFE 360 program, LVMH's environmental initiative which sets goals to elevate environmental performance.
Each piece is handmade by the skilled artisans at FENDI’s leathergoods factory in Capannuccia (Tuscany), where the leather squares have been precisely cut, perforated, and meticulously hand-knotted together using Cuoio Romano laces. This intricate process ensures that every bag is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, showcasing the incredible craftsmanship for which FENDI is renowned. To further enhance the bag’s design, the shoulder strap and the FF buckle were also crafted from the same Cuoio Romano leather, from previous FENDI collections, ensuring a cohesive and distinctive look.
This project highlights FENDI’s commitment to the LVMH Circularity program, which focuses on waste reduction and resource preservation.
