Fendi products are crafted with extreme care and attention to detail, following the highest artisanal and innovative processes.
Any precious jewel is delicate and should be treated with the greatest care.
A few simple actions and precautions will help you maintain the beauty and radiance of your Fendi jewel over time.
When wearing your piece, we recommend you avoid shocks and rubbing between pieces that could affect the quality of your jewelry.
When not being worn, each jewel should be stored separately, so that the stones and metals do not rub against or scratch each other.
We recommend that you keep your jewel in its original case for protection.
If you have any doubt about the condition of your jewel, we recommend that you contact Fendi or bring it to your Boutique (as indicated in the Certificate of Authenticity) which will be delighted to assist you in caring for it.
DAILY CARE
Your Fendi jewelry creation is delicate and thus requires special care and attention. To prevent damage, we recommend avoiding exposure to alcohol, fragrance, ammonia, chlorine, soap, chemicals, cosmetics and any other abrasive substances as these might affect its color and form.
Also, it is best to wait until fragrances and cosmetics have dried completely before wearing your jewelry.
It is important not to expose your creation to water (fresh, chlorinated or salted), to high temperatures (such as prolonged sun exposure) or extreme temperature changes.
We recommend that you remove your jewel before going to sleep, when practicing sport, gardening, washing your hands or using corrosive products and prevent it from being shocked or in contact with any other harmful substances.
CLEANING
To keep your Fendi creation gleaming, we recommend carefully cleaning it with a soft microfiber dry cloth. This method can be applied across all the Fendi’s jewelry creations without any risk of damage.
Special care instructions for Diamonds
A diamond can scratch metal, precious stones and even other diamonds. We recommend you avoid any friction between your pieces. A diamond can be cleaned with a small amount of neutral-pH liquid soap diluted in water, and then rinsed in clear lukewarm water. To dry your diamond, gently rub it with a non-lint cloth: this will restore its original radiance.
Special care instructions for the other stones
Due to their unique characteristics, diamonds are the only gemstones for which we recommend the use of water. For all the other stones, we recommend carefully avoiding contact with water and cleaning it delicately with a soft and dry non-lint cloth. This method can be applied across all of the Fendi's jewelry creations without any risk of damage.
Special care instructions for gold or platinum settings
Gold and platinum can be cleaned in gentle soapy water and then gently dried with a soft cloth.
We recommend that you bring your jewels to the Boutique to have them checked and restored to their original splendor. After a careful inspection of the jewel and based on its characteristics and conditions, Fendi experts may recommend simple cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning or polishing, to remove superficial scratches and preserve its shine and longevity. When dull or scratched, gold and platinum jewelry can be re-polished to restore its original sparkle. A new coat of rhodium must also be applied to white gold to restore its color and shine.
For each service performed, a professional quality inspection ensures that every stone is safely set and that functional parts, such as clasps and safety locks, work properly. Fendi shall provide previously a quotation based on the type of action requested by customer. Service will be carried out only upon customer written acceptance.
Each Fendi creation should be stored in its original jewelry case, separate from other pieces to prevent it from being knocked or scratched. Some of the materials used are more delicate than others and are particularly susceptible to breaking on impact.
Diamonds are the most sparkling and hardest of all minerals, which means that they can scratch other softer materials. Therefore, we advise you to store any creations set with diamonds separately.
Stones are most likely to scratch the settings: it is preferable to wear your jewels in such a way that the stones and metal do not rub together and to store your jewel individually in separate cases.
All chains should be kept closed and laid flat to avoid their becoming tangled.
Your jewel is a precious creation. Proper care in its use and handling will preserve its shine over time. If your jewel suffers a shock or hit or if you see any signs of damage, the stone setting may need to be checked. Avoid forcing clasps, joints and metal frames and be sure to check that the clasp and safety latch close properly. If you have any concerns, you should refrain from wearing your jewel until you have had it checked by an expert: please refer to your Boutique or Fendi’s Client Service team via the Contact Us page on Fendi.com, that will take care of your request partnering with Fendi specialists and artisans.
Missing components may be replaced, and broken parts may be repaired or reconstructed to restore the beauty of your jewel. Once the type of service that needs to be carried out has been assessed, you will receive a quotation together with a delivery lead time. Service will be carried out only upon customer written acceptance.
