Last October 2024, the FENDI ACTION WEEK took place in Italy for the first time, an entire week dedicated to corporate volunteering with a programme full of activities.
THE PROJECT
Over 300 colleagues from Rome, Fermo, and Florence had the opportunity to dedicate half a working day to supporting associations that take care of the environment and urban green spaces, also assisting individuals in vulnerable conditions. For the first time, this initiative spanned an entire week, allowing for a more extensive and impactful engagement.
Below is an overview of the initiatives undertaken:
- RETAKE - An association committed to restoring beauty and promoting urban regeneration in Italian cities.
Volunteers took part in waste collection and painting the external walls of a school, as well as cleaning and maintaining public parks. - BANCO ALIMENTARE - A non-profit foundation that collects food surpluses to distribute to people and families in need.
Volunteers selected and packed 2,680 kg of essential food items from industrial production. - SCUOLA VIVA ONLUS - A rehabilitation center for people with intellectual and/or motor disabilities.
Participants assisted in recreational activities, including gardening, animal care (donkeys and horses), and creative workshops such as painting and Raku ceramics. - AZZERO CO2 - A sustainability consultancy company supporting businesses in creating impactful social and environmental projects.
Volunteers built five raised garden beds using wooden crates, planted approximately 100 honey plants, maintained an organic vegetable garden, and restored wooden furniture for a social cooperative supporting immigrants and families in fragile conditions. - TRISOMIA 21 - An organization supporting people with Down syndrome and related genetic intellectual disabilities.
Volunteers worked on painting and renovating green spaces to improve an outdoor patio. - COOPERATIVA SOCIALE FONTENUOVA - An organization assisting people with disabilities.
Activities included olive harvesting for oil production and preparing seasonal fruit jams. - ALPAHA ONLUS - An association that provides work opportunities for young people with intellectual and relational disabilities through an alpaca farm.
Volunteers helped clean enclosures, graze alpacas, and package handcrafted items made from alpaca wool. COOPERATIVA AGRICOLA MONTEPACINI - A cooperative hosting people in vulnerable conditions, promoting inclusivity in an environmentally conscious setting.
Volunteers painted common areas and cleaned gardens to enhance the space.
This week-long initiative reinforced FENDI’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility, fostering a culture of teamwork and civic engagement. The collective effort made a tangible difference, highlighting the power of collaboration.
