In the dynamic landscape of 2021, FENDI started embracing the “Adopt a School” project, the educational program created by Altagamma to promote technical-professional trades in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
The program calls for each of Altagamma’s partner companies involved to adopt one of the leading Italian secondary schools selected with the support of the Ministry of Education. In particular, technical and professional institutes are selected in close proximity to company’s factories to ensure a link between the public school, the territory and the brand.
Fendi was the first brand to join the project starting from the Academic Year 2021/22 by defining its own study program elaborated with 4 hands with the school.
For the “Adopt a School” project, Fendi created a 2-year complete educational program the so called “Fendi Master Classes”. Specifically, Fendi welcomes students for two years in their fourth and fifth year of secondary school to acquire the necessary skills and techniques to become experts. Fendi Master Classes' programs are designed to transmit all the savoir-faire of Fendi artisans to the students.
Today Fendi is the best in class with three “Adopt a School” projects.
Fendi started with a first program dedicated to shoemaking, partnering with Ostilio Ricci Institute in Fermo (Marche) for the Academic Year 2021/22. The following year (A.Y. 2022/23), Fendi added a second program dedicated to leather goods, in partnership with the Russell Newton Institute in Scandicci (Tuscany). Finally, starting from the Academic Year 2023/24, the third project on knitwear began in collaboration with Maglificio Matisse and Primo Levi Institute in Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata (Abruzzo).
Moreover, Fendi and the schools have agreed on a system of rotation for having the students in the plant, to ensure the best deployment of the school-work alternation.
The “Adopt a School” project aims to convey savoir-faire from one generation to the next while attracting young people to the realm of artisanal trades.
Once again FENDI looks to the future, investing in young people and fostering their professional growth in the craftsmanship world, preserving ancient tradition of professionalism, quality, experimentation, and culture that has always distinguished FENDI.
