Fendi’s late Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear is celebrated in Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, on view May 5 through July 16, 2023. The opening of the exhibition was marked with The 2023 Met Gala.

Lagerfeld was hired by the Fendi sisters in 1965. In the five decades that followed, the designer transformed the Maison into a playground of creativity.

In honor of the exhibition, a selection of Lagerfeld's designs has been pulled from the Fendi archive and put on display in the windows of the Fendi 57th Street Boutique in New York City.

The exhibition celebrates Lagerfeld’s vision and his unique working method and includes several of his original sketches from the Fendi archive.
