Hand in Hand: Umbria

Practiced by Lovisa Loretta’s workshop Merletto di Orvieto, the curling, whimsical shapes of 18th century Orvieto lacework seems to lift off the fabric in a precious filigree of threadwork. For her Baguette, Loretta proposes a series of leaves and acorns rendered in linen thread over a crochet net on mint-coloured silk satin with knitted acorns suspended around the bag’s flap.
